Birthday Brunch for our own Stacy Hilliard at B&B Butchers & Restaurant Had an amazing brunch a couple of weekends back! The chicken and waffles were crispy, flavorful, and the perfect mix of savory and sweet. Paired it with a refreshing sunrise mimosa, and it hit the spot! The service was top-notch, and the ambiance made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for a great weekend brunch! #BrunchVibes #BBButcher #ChickenAndWaffles #SunriseMimosa #WeekendEats #HoustonBrunchScene

I visited during HRW for dinner with a friend. I pass by it frequently since I live 5 minutes from here. I was really glad HRW extended their dates and that B&B Butcher was still participating. The restaurant wasn't as busy at 6 pm on a Monday night....but then an hour later, the place was booming. The inside dining area filled up with work groups, friends, and people on dates. The dining room is small, but there is also outside seating. It was just too hot in this Texas heat for patio dining. I loved the little cow decor and brick wall. Even the tiles above the bar area were lovely and reminded me of the ceilings at Briscoe Manor, a wedding venue in Richmond. Our server Kevin was amazing. I arrived there first, and he came to check on me. I asked him if we could move a purse hook to my side since I saw that the others had one beside their tables except mine. He was kind enough to move it. When my friend arrived, we ordered wine - a rosè for me and a reisling for her. Both were great. We had questions about the different sides to add on to the HRW menu and what apps to get. He was so helpful regarding portion size and what to expect for each of the sides. When it seemed that we might go overboard in ordering, he gave us a great tip that we should be good with what we had for the two of us. I went with the whipped ricotta, 8 oz filet and added truffle butter, ordered a side of whipped garlic mashed potatoes, and the slice of chocolate cake. Whipped ricotta: Pretty decent portion even for HWT standards which is usually smaller. The warm pita triangles were pillowy soft yet sometimes had a crispy edge which was so good. The whipped ricotta with olive oil and oregano paired well with the cheese. We had leftovers to make room for our meal, and it was still good the next day. Filet with truffle butter: Wow. I have no words. This might be my favorite steak in Houston that was prepared to perfection. It was better than Brenner's and Patton's. I also love Taste of Texas, though. It was a perfect medium and was nicely salted outside. The truffle butter was melted all over the plate, but so what? I just scraped it with a bite of the filet or the whipped garlic mashed potatoes. Whipped garlic mashed potatoes: Came in a small cast iron pot and stirred up. I thought it tasted garlicky and buttery. It was so good paired with the steak. Chocolate cake: Perfectly sliced on the edges for a decent size slice of cake. I wonder how they did that! The chocolate was rich, and the espresso filling was light like mousse and subtle in coffee flavor. I was so full from my entree that I took half home. I love that they box each item for you and hand you the bag to hang on the purse hook. Each time you wanted something taken to-go, they immediately box it and add it to your takeout bag. They operate like a well-oiled machine here similar to Michelin-like qualities. Cleaning off the table, folding your napkin when you leave your seat, refilling water or wine, etc. I'm definitely coming back. In fact, I'm treating my sister who's visiting from another state here at the end of the month and inviting some of my favorite people to meet her.

Super impressed with B&B! From entrance to exit, we were well taken care of during our experience. We went to B&B for my birthday dinner. Our server, Lee, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with a bottle of wine as we looked over the appetizers portion of the menu. We decided on 1/2 a dozen raw oysters and the crab cake. The oysters were good and presented well. The crab cake was phenomenal. In a previous review I have mentioned Brenner's crab cake and stated it was the best I had ever tried. Well, step aside, Brenner's. There is a new crab cake in town! B&B pan sears their crab cake. Unlike most restaurants who use breadcrumbs. This is a winner all day long. Do not skip this appetizer. I am usually not a fan of crab cakes because of the breading. This is a game changer. Next, we were on to our main course. Being our first adventure to B&B, we were not certain what to order, but Lee was there to help guide us. One thing I noticed immediately is what he pointed out on the menu, or should I say what he didn't point out on the menu. You must understand, B&B has high priced steaks. Lee could have easily tried to get us to purchase the most expensive item, but he was very honest with us showcasing his favorites and explained how all cuts were prepared. We settled on the ribeye done medium rare. For our sides, we ordered the garlic mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. All steaks and sides are a shareable size. The meal was timed perfectly for us to finish our appetizers and start another bottle of wine. As we talked and enjoyed the atmosphere, I noticed each time a cart when by our table, it was draped with a linen tablecloth. I figured out it was the dirty dishes from vacated tables, and they put the cloth over them, so you don't have to see it going by. I loved that. Just a small touch of elegance to make the dining experience that much better. Our steak and sides arrived, and Lee cut the meat in strips for us. It was perfect prepared and tasteful. The gentleman stated it was the best ribeye he had ever eaten. That says a lot as I personally know he eats a lot of steak. Our sides were perfect. i loved the brussels sprouts best. Very flavorful. We ordered a slice of cheesecake for the birthday dinner finale. Creamy and beautiful. We had plenty of leftovers to take with us. After we paid, we thought our experience was complete, but Lee had one more special touch. He personally took us on a tour of the upstairs terrace area. He even carried our leftovers bag while he rode up the elevator. The view of the downtown skyline was gorgeous. I can see people getting engaged in a view like that. Beyond impressed with B&B. Highly recommend Lee. Lee, thank you for making my birthday night so memorable! We thoroughly enjoyed our time dining with you.
